Bristol Elementary School’s PTO also known as Friends of BES is a volunteer parent/teacher organization whose members include all parents, legal guardians, as well as the teachers and staff at Bristol Elementary School. The Friends of BES PTO’s mission is to improve the quality of our school through fundraisers and activities. Our main goals are to engage parents and support the teachers and staff of Bristol Elementary.

Friends of BES PTO provides financial assistance to teachers in their classroom settings, holds fundraisers for supplemental educational materials and experiences, and supports school and family social interaction.  In the past Friends of BES have help fund/support the following needs at the school: 4-winds, Two new water bottle water fountains, field trips, musical programs, new winter sleds, teacher/staff appreciation week, Fun Day (each kid received a T-shirt and water bottle), new classroom chairs, new ADA compliant mat for the gym, Expanded Learning Program, over $3,000 worth of new books in the library, amazon gift cards for teachers to purchase needed supplies for classrooms, and much much more!

It is our belief that the team effort of a parent teacher organization offers the best possible learning environment for our children. Friends of BES PTO accepts volunteers in many forms, whether it be attending meeting, volunteering at events, baking a dish for staff appreciation breakfast, sending emails, and many other forms that don’t require a large amount of time commitment.

Upcoming events for 2016/2017 School year: Wreath Sale, Holiday Fundraiser (Nov 5), Scholastic Book Fair (2/13-2/17) (volunteers needed for this event to take place), Staff/Teacher Appreciation week and breakfast, and Fun Day!

Our Major Goals this year is to purchase another water bottle water fountain and an AED (automated external defibrillator) for the school.
